Former Penn State running back Noah Cain is transferring to LSU. The Baton Rouge native made it official Thursday evening, announcing his commitment to the Tigers via social media.
This news comes just one day after Cain entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. He is coming off a junior season that saw him finish as the Nittany Lions’ second-leading rusher with 350 yards on 106 carries and lead the team with four rushing touchdowns. He also had 19 receptions for 114 yards.
Cain has been a major contributor since arriving on campus at Penn State in 2019. He appeared in 10 games with one start as a true freshman, rushing for 443 yards on 84 carries and setting a Penn State freshman record with eight rushing touchdowns while hauling in seven receptions for 52 yards.
He was slated to be Penn State’s lead back in 2020 and earned the starting nod in the opener, but he registered just three carries for 13 yards before suffering an injury that cut his sophomore season short. The injury caused him to miss the final eight games of 2020 and most of the spring.
