Former Texas starting quarterback Casey Thompson will transfer to Nebraska after starting one season for the Longhorns, the veteran signal-caller announced in an Instagram post. 

The Oklahoma City native accumulated 2,113 yards passing, 157 yards rushing and 28 total touchdowns in 12 appearances after wresting the job from opening-day starter Hudson Card. Thompson cleared 300 yards passing in games against Texas Tech and No. 16 Oklahoma in his first four starts, but struggled later in the year after suffering a hand injury. 

Thompson heads to a Nebraska squad that finished 3-9 in coach Scott Frost's fourth season at his alma mater. Painfully, the Huskers achieved the feat despite posting a positive point differential against their 11 FBS opponents, going 0-for-8 in one-score games.
