Western Kentucky quarterback Bailey Zappe set two FBS passing records in Saturday's RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl against Appalachian State.
Zappe needed 289 yards to break the single season passing record of 5,833 yards, which was set in 2003 by Texas Tech quarterback B.J. Symons.
Zappe, who leads the nation in passing yards, attempts, touchdowns and total offense, broke the record on a 44-yard pass to wide receiver Jerreth Sterns late in the second quarter.
