The Toronto Blue Jays met with free-agent first baseman Freddie Freeman's representatives before MLB implemented a lockout after the collective bargaining agreement expired in early December, according to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.

Freeman plays the same position as Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr., whom the team hasn't contacted about a positional switch, a source told Davidi, noting Toronto's front office is likely just doing its due diligence with Freeman. Guerrero started his career at third base before moving to first.
