The Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Rams are set to do battle in Week 13 of the NFL season. It has not been Jacksonville’s year, to say the least, but the Rams have had some issues of their own over the last month. While the Rams enter this matchup as double-digit favorites, Los Angeles will have to be sharp to avoid faltering in a trap spot before a key division game. Let’s check out our NFL Betting analysis for the upcoming match between the Jaguars and the Rams.
NFL Betting Preview for Jacksonville Jaguars at Los Angeles
Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Preview
Jacksonville lost to the Atlanta Falcons last week, dropping their third straight game in the process. The Jaguars couldn’t get their offense going once again, scoring just 14 points against a Falcons defense that has been far from impressive this season. Now, the Jaguars are tasked with taking on a Rams team that has several playmakers on defense, which could spell trouble for Trevor Lawrence.
Lawrence has thrown nine touchdown passes in 11 games so far this season, as the rookie quarterback appears to be in need of some more seasoning early in his career. To his credit, Lawrence has really reduced his turnover output, throwing just three interceptions in his last eight games after starting with seven in his first three outings. He will need another turnover-free performance here to give the Jaguars a chance.
Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview
After a 7-1 start to the season, the Los Angeles Rams have fallen on hard times, losing three straight games. Their last outing was an eight-point loss to the Green Bay Packers in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. This week, the Rams have a chance to get back on track against the Jaguars but will have to avoid looking ahead to the week after against the Cardinals.
That Monday Night Football matchup with the Cardinals in Week 14 could all but decide the outcome of the NFC West this season. As a result, it would be tempting for the Rams to look past the lowly Jaguars and to that important game. But the Rams will have to tighten things up on both sides of the ball if they want to beat Arizona, and the Jaguars are an ideal team to do that against.
Jaguars vs Rams Pick: Under 47
Instead of laying the points with the Rams in a game, they should win; the under appears to be the best play in the betting markets for this matchup. Los Angeles has had a world of trouble scoring consistently over the last few weeks, with the health of Matthew Stafford and the loss of Robert Woods contributing to their problems. Here, they should be able to score enough to win but not enough to push the game over the total.
Jacksonville will not break out of its offensive funk in this game, as they will continue to search for a rhythm with Lawrence as their quarterback. The struggles of the Jaguars on offense aren’t entirely the fault of Lawrence, as the Jaguars lack a strong offensive line and skill position talent. But, regardless of who is to blame in Duval County, there shouldn’t be high expectations for the Jaguars offensively in Los Angeles.
