Trent Dilfer might be well-known for his stint at ESPN following his retirement from pro football, but he eventually left the network and got into head coaching.

The Super Bowl-winning former quarterback is making waves this week after footage showed the head coach at Nashville private school Lipscomb Academy berating a player on the sidelines.

Dilfer addressed the situation and showed remorse in a statement released on social media.

“I want to address the incident on our sideline during Friday night’s game vs. Independence that has drawn a lot of attention,” Dilfer wrote. “First and foremost, I take full responsibility as the head coach and leader of our team for not de-escalating an emotional situation with one of our players, Beau Dawson.
