The New York Rangers and goaltender Igor Shesterkin have agreed to a four-year deal, the team announced on Monday. Shesterkin was a restricted free agent this offseason.

The contract is worth $5.6 million annually, according to multiple reports, setting a record for the highest annual average for a goalie's second contract.

The 25-year-old played in 35 games with the Rangers this past year, posting a 16-14-3 record. He had a 2.62 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
