NBA executives likely have their ears perked following James Harden’s public criticism of Daryl Morey.
Harden is keen on joining the Clippers while there probably aren’t that many organizations who would trade for him if given the opportunity. Their interest will be in Joel Embiid, who had already expressed his disenchantment with the franchise earlier this year.
As such, Bleacher Report has worked out some trade proposals that would see the center leave the Philadelphia 76ers and, perhaps the most interesting is one that lands him in Miami.
It’s no secret that Embiid and Jimmy Butler are good friends and that could be enough to lure him to the Heat, though the Eastern Conference champions are likely fixated on Damian Lillard right now. Still, they would probably jump at the chanceto acquire Embiid if one ever arose.
Here’s how Bleacher Report has it playing out:
The Heat would receive Joel Embiid, P.J. Tucker, and Furkan Korkmaz in exchange for Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Nikola Jović, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2029 first-round pick, and a 2028 first-round pick swap.
There aren’t many players Miami would trade Bam for; they wouldn’t even consider letting the Trail Blazers have him as part of the package for Lillard. But the reigning MVP is certainly one of the handful of stars who could get them to budge.
