The Milwaukee Brewers (52-43) and Philadelphia Phillies (52-42) square off for Game 2 of their 3-game series on Wednesday. First pitch from Citizens Bank Park will be at 6:40 p.m. ET in Philadelphia. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Brewers vs. Phillies odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.
Season series: Phillies lead 1-0 after winning 4-3 on Tuesday
The Brewers have been on a tear as of late to push into 1st place in the NL Central. They’ve won 6 of their last 8 games and 9 of their last 13 and now hold a 2.5-game lead over the Cincinnati Reds in the division.
The Phillies are also heating up winning 4 straight games and 8 of their last 11. They’re still 9 1/2 games back of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East but they’re squarely in the hunt for a wild-card berth if they continue playing the way they have.

Brewers at Phillies picks and predictions
Prediction
Brewers 6 Phillies 5
Moneyline
Both of these teams are playing well right now winning series against quality teams such as the Cincinnati Reds and Tampa Bay Rays. The Brewers took 5 of 6 from the Reds winning some very close games 3 of them by only 1 run.
With this being such an even matchup I give the slight edge to the Brewers. You can sprinkle a bit on the Brewers ML but I would PASS and instead bet only on the spread.
Run line/Against the spread
The Brewers have kept games close lately with 7 of their last 10 contests being 1-run games. Because they’re the underdogs on the run line they’re getting 1.5 runs which is a nice cushion against an evenly matched Phillies team.
BET BREWERS +1.5 (-140) to cover the spread on the road where they’ve won 10 of their last 14 games straight up.
Over/Under
The total has gone Under in each of the Brewers’ last 5 games but the Phillies have pushed it Over in 6 of their last 7. Neither pitcher on the mound Wednesday has been particularly dominant which is why it could be a higher-scoring game.
BET OVER 9 (-115).
