Washington is 4-10 in their last 14 games overall and 1-5 in their last 6 road games while the over is 9-3 in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record. Ottawa is 20-42 in their last 62 games against the Metropolitan division and 0-4 in their last 4 games played on 1 days rest while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 home games.
I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but I’m looking at the over in this one. I still lean towards Washington for a side, but last year’s meeting in Ottawa saw 12 goals, and I’m still not all that fond of the goaltending on either side as Ottawa’s is shaky and Darcy Kuemper’s yet to really look comfortable in the crease for the Caps. All in all, I think this is a spot to back goals and I love the over here.
