The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to build on their 5-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks to start the year. Connor McDavid had a team-high 4 points with a hat trick while Leon Draisaitl had a goal and two assists and Darnell Nurse had a goal and an assist as well. Zach Hyman had a pair of assists while Tyson Barrie and Evander Kane each had an assist as well in the win. Jack Campbell got the win in goal after stopping 33 of 36 shots faced in the winning effort.

Calgary is 1-6 in their last 7 road games and 0-4 in their last 4 division games while the over is 6-1-1 in their last 8 games against a team with a winning record. Edmonton is 30-9 in their last 39 division games and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-0 int heir last 4 games following a win.

I get the case to be made for either side in this game, but I’m looking at the over here. This is a traditional rivalry in the sense that these two teams do not like each other, but while other rivalries see physicality take center stage, this one features two teams that really like to hurt each other on the scoreboard. I think this is going to be a higher-scoring game so I’m looking at the over here in what I think is a 5-4 or 6-5 kind of game.
