The Kansas City Royals and the Cleveland Guardians meet in an AL Central division matchup in MLB action from Progressive Field on Tuesday.

The Kansas City Royals will look to build on their 5-2 win over the Guardians from Monday’s matchup. Salvador Perez has 23 home runs and 78 RBIs as well as 23 doubles and Hunter Dozier has 26 doubles as well as 4 triples and Bobby Witt Jr. has 31 doubles as well on the year. Witt Jr. also has a team-high 6 triples with 20 home runs and 80 RBIs as well this season. Daniel Lynch will start here and is 4-12 with a 4.96 ERA and 120 strikeouts this season.

The Cleveland Guardians will hope to bounce back from their defeat at the hands of the Royals on Monday. Jose Ramirez has 163 hits, 29 home runs and 122 RBIs along with a .275 batting average while Owen Miller has a .243 batting average with 26 doubles as well this season. Ramirez also has 42 doubles and Steven Kwan has 167 hits with 24 doubles as well as a .301 batting average this season. Ramirez has 5 triples while Amed Rosario has 9 triples as well as a team-high 176 hits and Andres Gimenez has a .300 batting average on the year. Cal Quantrill will start here and is 14-5 with a 3.42 ERA and 124 strikeouts this season.

Kansas City is 18-39 in their last 57 road games and 2-5 in their last 7 games overall while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record. Cleveland is 5-1 in their last 6 Tuesday games and 22-6 in their last 28 games overall while the over is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record.

I get the reasoning for backing the Royals here as the Guardians have started to cool off a bit after a nice run, but call me stubborn. I’m sticking with Cleveland here. Cal Quantrill’s had success against the Royals, winning all five career starts against them and I just want no part of Daniel Lynch. The Guardians let me down big on Monday, but time to make amends. Give me the Guardians on the bounce back here.
