The Boston Red Sox will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last 5 games after a 2-0 loss to Seattle last time out. Xander Bogaerts has 71 hits, a .321 batting average and 17 doubles while Rafael Devers has 83 hits with 23 doubles and Enrique Hernandez also has 16 doubles. Alex Verdugo has 3 home runs and 29 RBIs while Devers has a team-high 14 home runs and 35 RBIs and Hernandez also has 24 RBIs. J.D. Martinez also has 22 doubles, a .347 batting average and 26 RBIs this year and Trevor Story has a team-high 41 RBIs as well for Boston. Nick Pivetta will start here and is 5-5 with a 3.78 ERA and 69 strikeouts this season.

Oakland is 1-5 in their last 6 road games and 8-23 in their last 31 games following a loss while the over is 10-3-2 in their last 15 games following a loss. Boston is 5-0 in their last 5 games as a favorite and 9-2 in their last 11 games overall while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games following an off day.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but I’m looking at the over here. Jared Koenig had solid minor league numbers, but they didn’t carry over in his first major league start. On the flipside, Nick Pivetta’s pitched well in spots, but I’m still not sold on him overall. All in all, I think this ends up being a higher-scoring game that finishes in double digits so give me the over.
