The Winnipeg Jets and the Chicago Blackhawks meet in NHL action from the United Center on Sunday.

The Winnipeg Jets will look to rebound from a 4-2 loss to the Boston Bruins last time out. Blake Wheeler also has a team-high 36 assists while Connor Hellebuyck has made the majority of the starts in goal for Winnipeg, going 21-22-9 with a 2.99 GAA and a .909 save percentage this season.

The Chicago Blackhawks will try to bounce back from back-to-back losses after a 3-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild last time out. Patrick Kane leads the Blackhawks with 69 points including 19 goals and 50 assists while Seth Jones has 40 points including 36 assists and Alex DeBrincat also has 55 points with a team-high 34 goals this season. Marc-Andre Fleury’s gone 19-20-5 with a 2.90 GAA and a .909 save percentage in goal for Chicago this year while Kevin Lankinen is 3-8-4 with a 3.60 GAA and an .889 save percentage.

Winnipeg is 4-1 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 in their last 5 games as a road favorite while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Chicago is 3-10 in their last 13 home games and 2-5 in their last 7 games overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games played on no rest.

I get that a home dog can be tempting, but nothing really makes me want to back the Blackhawks right now as it almost feels like the Blackhawks are preparing to wave the white flag. Winnipeg’s a few points out of the playoff race, but they’re a lot closer than the Blackhawks right now and simply put, I just think Winnipeg will want this one more. I’ll side with the Jets in this one.
