Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill was honored by his hometown on Saturday.

Hill was born in Pearson, Georgia, but went to Coffee High School in the nearby city of Douglas. There he played football and became a state record-holding track athlete.

On Saturday, Hill was invited back to town and honored for his accomplishments both on and off the field in what the city dubbed “Tyreek Hill Day.” A six-time Pro Bowler, All-Pro and Super Bowl champion, Hill spoke saw his high school jersey retired and Mayor Tony Paulk presented him with the Key to the City.

Hundreds of community members showed up for the event. Hill spoke to the crowd, including student-athletes from Coffee High School, about his journey and the impact that high school had on him. It was an important part of his legacy. By returning to the area, he hopes to help inspire the next generation of athletes to come out of Douglas, Georgia.

Hill also signed autographs and stayed behind to meet with everyone in attendance.
