Ja’Marr Chase was busy catching passes and scoring touchdowns while he was a student at LSU. That apparently left him very little time for studying.
Chase and the Cincinnati Bengals have a huge Thursday night clash against the Baltimore Ravens this week. Given that the Bengals lost to the Ravens earlier this season, Thursday’s matchup feels like a must-win for Cincinnati to keep the AFC North race competitive.
On Tuesday, a reporter asked Chase if the short week of preparation feels like “cramming for a test back in school.” Chase was quick with his response.
“I didn’t study in school,” Chase replied before the reporter could even finish his question.

Before anybody panics about Chase being a poor role model for his younger fans, his response was likely just to flex how easily such preparations come to him. Given his natural talent, Chase probably doesn’t need to prepare nearly as much as some of his peers.
Through nine games this season, Chase has an NFL-best seven receiving touchdowns. Only Justin Jefferson (783) has more receiving yards than Chase (717) entering Week 10. The Bengals will need more of the same from Chase if they want to pull off a road win against the Ravens.
After starting the season 1-4, Cincinnati has bounced back to win three of their last four games. A victory over the Ravens would get the Bengals back to .500 and make the AFC North title chase a lot more interesting.
