The Mets will pitch Luis Severino today. He’s a right-handed pitcher who has struggled against lefties over the last month. However, Severino will face a Brewers lineup that has four lefties that have combined to hit a .100 ISO and wOBA of .246 against righties over the last 30 days.
In addition, the Brewers have struck out 25.5% of the time against righties in the last 30 days, and Severino has struck out nearly 26% of batters himself over the last month.
Freddy Peralta’s Ugly Struggles Against Righties
The Brewers will roll with typical ace pitcher Freddy Peralta. Except he hasn’t been an ace recently. He’s allowed a .415 ISO and wOBA of .451 to his last 50 righties. Beyond that, Peralta has allowed 46.7% of fly balls and 76.7% of hard contact to righties over the previous 30 days.
He’ll still get swinging strikes and whiffs. However, he’s also falling behind in counts and righties over the last 30 days. Batters like Pete Alonso and Mark Vientos can take advantage.
