Over the years, I’ve faded Ryne Nelson and won plenty of money. But he’s starting to adapt and adjust.
Nelson, a right-hander for Arizona, has held his last 116 batters to a .140 ISO and wOBA of .293. These are excellent stats. It all started thanks to low walks and a low flyball rate. If he continues pitching at this level, he’ll be a legitimate rotation piece for Arizona’s future.
Michael Wacha Can Hold His Own, Too
The Padres will send out Michael Wacha. He’s been even better than Nelson. However, he’ll have to take on a terrific Diamondbacks offense that has hit a .214 ISO and wOBA of .337 against righties using the projected lineup over the last 30 days.
Arizona’s lineup has struck out below 20% of the time and has walked more than 9% of the time. They’ll find ways on base and create havoc against Wacha.
