A video of Patrick Mahomes reporting to the Kansas City Chiefs for their offseason team activities on Tuesday drew tons of comments, but not for a reason you would expect.
The video of Mahomes seemed very innocent — he was just recorded walking through a parking lot toward the entrance of the building.

However, many people paid particular attention to Mahomes’ midsection and felt the quarterback was showing up to the program out of shape.
Bro could really benefit from some cardio

The particular clothes Mahomes was wearing did him no favors, that’s for sure.
But for as many people there were who claimed Mahomes was out of shape, there were plenty of others who weren’t worried for the quarterback in the least bit.
People are saying Patrick Mahomes looks out of shape after returning from the offseason.
I wish the quarterback of my team was “out of shape” like Mahomes. 3 rings at 28, you can get a spare tire in the offseason.

Mahomes embracing the dad bod and still annually destroying the league is a hilarious bit https://t.co/OjrJSnJUuS

People posting this to dunk on Mahomes doesn’t even make sense. This just makes him even more powerful. You win those super bowls and then show up to camp like this. It means he’s unstoppable. pic.twitter.com/D3Yv0LlYLs

Maybe Mahomes just needs a looser shirt.
The quarterback’s physique being the center of attention is nothing new. People were talking about Mahomes’ “dad bod” after a video of him with his shirt off in the locker room was released in January.
You call it a “dad bod.” I call it the body of a champion.
