CJ Stroud celebrating after Texans' win over Colts

This is CJ Stroud’s world and Houston Texans fans are simply living in it.

The Texans outlasted the Indianapolis Colts in a 23-19 affair Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind. Stroud led Houston to its first playoff appearance since 2019.

The Ohio State alum seemed to go through the emotional gauntlet after the Texans secured both the win and a playoff berth. The Colts botched their final chance at a season-saving drive on a rather polarizing play call in the game’s final minute.

Stroud was hugging guys, pumping his fist, and on the verge of tears when the result was all but final on the field.

The No. 2 overall pick was then seen jumping, screaming, and headbanging as he led the celebration in the locker room.

Stroud also found time to share an emotional embrace with rookie head coach DeMeco Ryans. The passers-by who witnessed the moment couldn’t help but smile.

Stroud went 20/26 for 264 yards with 2 touchdowns and no interceptions in the biggest game of his young NFL career. He also ran for 20 yards on 3 carries.

The Texans stud began his primetime debut in style with a bomb to Nico Collins for a 75-yard touchdown on his very first throw.

If Stroud’s rookie campaign is any indication, the Texans have found their franchise QB for years to come.
