PICKWISE

We’re almost more than a quarter of the way through the 2023 NFL season as we get set for Week 5. So far, things have been red-hot for the Pickswise team as we boast a 39-23-3 record for our spread picks for every game and a 14-8 record for our NFL best bets. Now, let’s try and turn that success into a big payout in the form of an NFL mega parlay at +1457 odds! Let’s get into my 3 NFL Week 5 picks for this parlay, but make sure you also read our NFL predictions for every game on Sunday.

Steelers ML (+180)

Eagles -6.5 alternate spread (+127)

Bengals -6.5 alternate spread (+145)

NFL Parlay odds: +1457

For this NFL parlay, we’re going with one underdog on the money line and a couple of favorites on the alternate spread to win by a touchdown. By doing so, we get a payout of nearly 15/1! Let’s break down each of the legs.

Pittsburgh Steelers ML over Baltimore Ravens (+180)

To start this NFL mega parlay off, I’m taking the Steelers to beat the Ravens. Quarterback Kenny Pickett announced that he’ll be ready to go by Sunday for this AFC North showdown, but that isn’t the reason I’m picking Pittsburgh — far from it! Simply put, this team boasts one of the most vicious defenses in the league and I’m not convinced the Ravens and Lamar Jackson will be able to deal with it. Baltimore picked up a big win over Cleveland last week, but the Browns were without Deshaun Watson and I feel like that victory has skewed the public’s perception of them a little too far. Yes, they are 3-1, but their issues in their overtime loss to the Colts a couple of weeks ago showed me that this team can struggle against a tough defense, and Pittsburgh certainly fits that description.

The Steelers looked woeful in their 30-6 loss to the Texans last week, but prior to that game they were solid against the Raiders and Browns. This game being in Pittsburgh gives a strong advantage to the hosts and with not a lot of points expected, there is every chance that the Steelers can sneak the win. At +180 odds, I’m willing to take a shot on ’em.

Philadelphia Eagles -6.5 alternate spread over LA Rams (+127)

Despite being 4-0, questions are being asked of this Eagles team. With a soft start to the season against the Patriots, Vikings, Bucs and Commanders, many would’ve expected them to have won more than 1 game by 7+ points. But great teams focus on the victory rather than the margin, and I believe there is great value in getting Philly to win this game by at least a touchdown. Philadelphia’s offense has been relentless, scoring 25+ points in every game so far this season, and the addition of D’Andre Swift in the offseason is already paying dividends with a couple of monster performances under his belt.

As far as the Rams are concerned, they should be delighted to be 2-2 right now, but public perception of them feels a touch overstated. They jumped out to a 23-0 lead over the Colts last week before nearly blowing it and needing overtime to get over the line. Prior to that game, they fell to the struggling Bengals. Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua have both broken out this year to give Rams fans plenty to cheer about, but this team still has a long way to go before it can be a top-tier contender again, and the Eagles should prove exactly why on Sunday.

Cincinnati Bengals -6.5 over Arizona Cardinals (+145)

Just last week, the Bengals were an 8.5-point favorite against the Cardinals. Now, that line is down to 3 points. Ultimately, this is down to Cincinnati seemingly being worse than we thought, and the Cardinals being better than we thought. While I do believe the latter to be true, highlighted by Arizona’s 3-1 spread record through the first 4 games of the season, I’m expecting this to be the turning point in the Bengals’ season. There will of course be some concern here given what we saw the Cardinals do to the Cowboys a couple of weeks ago, but Joe Burrow is simply too good of a quarterback to not eventually break out of this funk he’s in, and Arizona is the perfect opponent for it.

The Cardinals have allowed the 5th-most passing yards per attempt this season and last week got torched by Brandon Aiyuk and the 49ers. I’m expecting Burrow and star receiver Ja’Marr Chase to come into this game motivated to prove their doubters wrong, and for that to translate into a dominant Bengals display on offense. I’ll happily take Cincinnati to win by a touchdown at this price and hopefully deliver us a winning NFL mega parlay at +1457 odds.
