NFL fans and prognosticators were saying the same thing about Washington Commanders’ head coach Ron Rivera on Thursday night.

Rivera’s Commanders were humiliated by the previously winless Chicago Bears 40-20 at home on Thursday night. With the victory at FedExField, the Bears ended a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Folks on social media went off on Rivera and his “Riverboat Ron” nickname because of his decision to kick a field goal instead of going for it on 4th-and-3 in the third quarter, with his team trailing by 16 points:

This dude really got the nickname “Riverboat Ron” because sneaking it on 4th & inches from the opponent’s 35 was seen as risky in 2012.
