The Detroit Lions got absolutely hosed on a brutal officiating mistake in the third quarter of Thursday night’s road game against the Green Bay Packers.
On the final play of the third quarter, Packers’ quarterback Jordan Love completed a 44-yard pass to wide receiver Jayden Reed. This gave the Packers a first-and-goal at the Detroit nine, and it culminated with a Love touchdown run.
There was just one problem on the aforementioned pass to Reed: As you can see in the clip below, the game clock clearly hit zero before Green Bay got the snap off:
Understandably, social media was enraged over the big miss by the officiating crew:
Just another example of the NFL needing to at least consider the idea of adding a sky judge to enhance the quality of officiating…
