Wise n’ Shine: MLB picks and Super Bowl odds for Tuesday, September 26

Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another tremendous Tuesday of sports. NFL Week 3 is in the books and we have a packed MLB slate to enjoy today, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

  • Our handicappers stayed hot with their NFL predictions as we improved to 8-2-1 on primetime sides with the Eagles and Bengals both covering the spread in wins over the Buccaneers and Rams respectively.
  • The Eagles are +700 odds third favorites for the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook, behind the Chiefs and 49ers at +600, with the Bengals available at +17o0 odds.
  • We had just 4 MLB games yesterday but crucially the Diamondbacks lost to the Yankees to keep the wild-card race wide open between Arizona, the Cubs and the Marlins.

Today’s Slate

  • Check out our MLB picks for all today’s games including Cubs vs Braves on TBS at 7:20 pm ET and Astros vs Mariners on the same channel at 10:05 pm ET.

Best Bet of the Day

Golf: Max Homa top USA Ryder Cup points scorer (+900)

Following his impressive Presidents Cup debut last year, when he went 4-0 at Quail Hollow, Max Homa is one to watch at the Ryder Cup, which starts early on Friday morning. He hasn’t finished outside the top 10 in any tournament since the Scottish Open mid-July (when he finished 12th) and hasn’t lost any strokes off the tee since May.

Stat of the Day

The Royals are last in the AL Central but have won 6 straight games and 10 of their last 11.

Quote of the Day

“There is risk to go out there and potentially reinjure it. But there’s also the risk to not go out there and be 0-3. So I wanted to be out there for my guys.”

— Cincinnati QB Joe Burrow’s gamble on his injured calf paid off as the Bengals beat the Rams 19-16  to get their first win of the season.
