PICKWISE

Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another fantastic Friday of sports. We have a busy MLB slate to enjoy today, plus college football action, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better.

About Last Night

2-0 night for Pickswise on TNF!
The Philadelphia Eagles moved to 2-0 with a 34-28 win over the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday Night Football and it was a 2-0 night for Pickswise too as we cashed our picks of Vikings +7.5 and over 48.5, taking our NFL record to 13-4 on spreads and 11-5-1 on totals this season. The Eagles are +750 odds for the Super Bowl at FanDuel Sportsbook now, the same mark as the 49ers and just behind the Chiefs (+700).

7-2-1 day of MLB picks
It wasn’t the biggest slate of games on Thursday, but our cappers certainly made it work for them with a 7-2-1 overall record. The Red Sox and the Yankees split their doubleheader with Boston posting a 5-0 shutout win in the first game before New York his back with an 8-5 success. The big game in the AL East saw the Rays move to within 1 game of the Orioles with a 4-3 win in Baltimore.

CFB underdogs cover
Both NCAAF favorites won but did not cover on Thursday night as #22 Miami beat Bethune Cookman 48-7 as a 51.5-point favorite, while Memphis (-14.5) beat Navy 28-24.

Today’s Slate

15 MLB games on Friday
The Giants-Rockies game that was postponed last night is being made up on Saturday, so we still have a 15-game slate today. Apple TV+ is showing Rays vs Orioles at 7:05 pm ET and Phillies vs Cardinals at 8:15 pm ET. Read all of today’s MLB predictions.

Friday night lights are on
The Friday night CFB schedule is, as ever, the calm before the Saturday storm, but tonight it includes Virginia vs Maryland on FS1 at 7:00 pm ET and Army vs UTSA on ESPN at the same time. Check out all our college football picks.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAF: Maryland Terrapins -14.5 over Virginia Cavaliers (-110)
7:00 pm ET, FS1

The Maryland Terrapins are all about Taulia Tagovailoa. He is breaking school records left and right, and he is smart, athletic and dangerous on the field. Tagovailoa has had his way with two lesser opponents to open the year, and Virginia may not have the defensive prowess to slow him down much either. Virginia has opened the season against 3 electric offenses in Tennessee, James Madison and now Maryland, and while the road will improve for the ‘Hoos, it probably won’t be this week. Read our full Virginia vs Maryland predictions.

Stat of the Day

The Texas Rangers are on a 6-game winning run, having lost 7 out of 8 before it started.

Quote of the Day

“I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love.”

Aaron Rodgers is taking a positive approach to his recovery.
