Malik Willis isn’t thought to have a future with the Tennessee Titans. The team made that clear when they traded up to draft Will Levis earlier this year.

While he’s ahead of Levis in the pecking order, the No. 2-rated quarterback in the 2022 NFL Draft is still not going to be the starter in Tennessee, while it is the expectation that Levis will be their QB1 at some point, though he has received some criticism over practice footage.

Should the Titans choose to cut ties with Willis, he could end up with the Washington Commanders. At least that’s the way Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox sees it

Why Malik Willis Would Be A Good Fit With The Commanders

Knox reckons that the commanders make sense as they are in a QB quandary of their own. They’re set to rely on a fifth-round pick in Sam Howell but could look to sign another player who could develop into a star to add to their depth chart.

“Willis is more of a toolsy player than a viable starting NFL quarterback at this point in time,” Nate Tice of B/R’s Scouting Department writes about the Titans signal-caller. “He will be a big project for whichever NFL team selects him—albeit a fun project.”

The Commanders also have a proven offensive coordinator in Eric Bieniemy following his move from Kansas City on the back of a Super Bowl-winning campaign. Willis does seem a player who could thrive under the tutelage of the former Chiefs OC given the caliber of receivers and backs currently in the squad.
