Former NFL quarterback Tom Brady has made headlines again with a rather awkward response to a fan regarding “the biggest mistake” he’s ever made.
Popular social media personality Glo Jays asked saw Brady on the streets and asked him to name one of the biggest mistakes of his life. The seven-time Super Bowl champion said “good question,” before awkwardly asking, “I don’t know, is anything really a mistake?” He proceeded to laugh and walk away without offering an answer.
Brady may be the most accomplished football player of all-time, but no human being is perfect. He could’ve simply mentioned any of his three Super Bowl losses (especially Super Bowl 42 to the New York Giants, which ended the New England Patriots’ bid at a perfect season).
Speaking of Super Bowl 42, Brady memorably scoffed at the prediction of then-Giants star wideout Plaxico Burress, who projected a 23-17 New York win. Brady laughed when Burress predicted “only 17 points” for the Patriots…who wound up putting up 14 in a three-point defeat.
If he wanted to look at off-the-field matters, the 46-year-old could have mentioned that he lost a reported $30 million in the collapse of FTX.
At the same time, one can understand why Brady chose the more positive approach to the question. Interpret his answer however you wish.
Brady announced his retirement in February after 23 NFL seasons.
