The Los Angeles Rams are reported to have attempted to pull off a significant trade following their dismal 2022 season. 

Following their Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2021, the Rams were below mediocre last term and it appears they’re keen on an overhaul.

According to former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi, the franchise tried trading quarterback Matthew Stafford before his bonus triggered this offseason. While Stafford ended up being the QB who got them over the hump, he was hardly as effective in 2022. And it appears the Rams were not so eager to be the ones to pay him.

“When his option bonus was getting ready to kick in, they attempted with a lot of effort to trade him,” Lombardi said on the Pat McAfee Show this week. “Any team could’ve had him. The problem was you had to absorb the $59 million.”
