First off, congratulations to Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen for being named the cover athlete for the Madden 24 video game. Now that’s out of the way, I’m about to piss off Bills fans for preparing them for the worst. I wouldn’t blame you if you’ve already decided not to continue reading, you know what’s coming. Do not be shocked when Allen requests a trade next offseason if the Bills can’t make it to Super Bowl.

Since Allen was selected seventh overall by the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft, he’s continued to improve and grow his game. After an ugly rookie season, he’s played fantastic football, both in the air and on the ground. He averaged 36 TD’s, 4,411 passing yards, and 649 rushing yards over the last 3 seasons. He’s durable, versatile, and has shown he can lead a team.

The Bills have finished 1st in the AFC East in each of the last 3 seasons, with very little to show for it. They made it to the AFC Championship in 2020 but have been knocked out of the Divisional Round in the last 2 seasons. This year they’ve got a tough schedule, though a 12-5 season if very conceivable. Buffalo’s running game feels more complete, giving Allen more opportunities to increase his TD and passing yards to higher levels. And with a strong defense, expect the Bills offense to be on the field a shit ton. This has all the makings of an MVP season.

Here's the thing, a player of that caliber can only accept losing for so long. Their regular season success isn’t translating to winning in the playoffs. There’s no need to speculate on those reasons, but like Ricky Bobby says, “if you’re not first, you’re last”. And Josh Allen wants to win. He wants to win in Buffalo. Except if they come up short again next season, the gears will start turning, and he’ll see the team constructed by management isn’t going to bring him Super Bowl rings. At that point, I won’t be shocked when he feels a change is necessary and he requests a trade from the Bills.

Here's three blockbuster trades the Bills could make if they’re forced to trade their franchise QB:

Trade #1

Dallas Cowboys receive- QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills receive- QB Dak Prescott, CB Trevon Diggs, and a 2nd rd. pick.

Trade #2

Minnesota Vikings receive- QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills receive- QB Kirk Cousins, RB Dalvin Cook, TE T.J. Hockenson, and a 1st rd. pick.

Trade #3

San Francisco 49ers receive- QB Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills receive- QB Trey Lance, RB Elijah Mitchell, WR Brandon Aiyuk, CB Deommodore Lenoir, and a 4th rd. pick.
