The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Nick Nurse to be the 26th head coach in franchise history and if history is any indication, Nurse's hard-nose, defense first mentality may not be suitable for a player like Joel Embiid who likes to slack on defense.

If the pair don't mesh on basketball philosophy, it could be Embiid who forces his way out of town before Nurse has any chance of getting the big man to buy into the system.

Some teams that could be considered as potential landing spots for Embiid, based on their needs and assets could include:

Portland Trail Blazers

The Trail Blazers have been in need of a dominant big man to complement their star guard, Damian Lillard. Embiid's presence could provide them with a strong inside presence and elevate their chances of contending.

Miami Heat

The Heat have always prioritized building a strong frontcourt, and pairing Embiid with players like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo could create a formidable trio. Embiid's scoring and defensive abilities would greatly benefit the Heat's roster.

Boston Celtics

The Celtics have lacked a true dominant center in recent years, and Embiid would immediately address that need. Playing alongside talented stars like Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown could make the Celtics a contender in the Eastern Conference.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are known for their versatile and fast-paced style of play, and adding Embiid to their roster would provide them with an elite center to dominate the paint. With Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson spacing the floor, Embiid could thrive in Golden State's system.
