Bronny James, the 18-year-old son of NBA star LeBron James, could be nearing a highly-anticipated announcement regarding where he’ll play after high school. The 6-foot-3 combo guard and Sierra Canyon senior attended the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Ore., over the weekend as the only uncommitted 2023 prospect on the event’s roster, sparking increased speculation about his future.

Bronny has a bevy of options, including playing for a Division I program like USC, Oregon or Ohio State, or opting for the non-collegiate route of joining the NBA’s G League Ignite or unaffiliated Overtime Elite.

Here’s the latest on where he stands with his decision:

Where could Bronny play next?

Bronny “wants to go the college route,” LeBron told Sports Illustrated in August 2022. His list of suitors in the fall included Oregon, UCLA, USC, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio State and Memphis. The Los Angeles Times reported in January that Bronny’s top three schools were Ohio State, USC and Oregon.

Below is an outlook for those options:

USC: The Trojans currently have three commits in the 2023 class in five-star Isaiah Collier, four-star Arrinten Page and Silas Demary Jr. With the addition of Bronny, their recruiting would crack the top-10 national list, and the Trojans would be the best overall fit based on personnel.
