PICKWISE

Good morning Pickswise Nation and welcome to another terrific Thursday of sports. We have action in the NFL tonight as Thursday Night Football starts Week 16, and we also have a bowl game in college football, plus NBA and NHL slates, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!

About Last Night

Nets blow out the Warriors
Not having Steph Curry, Klay Thompson or Andrew Wiggins proved to be too difficult to overcome as the Warriors lost 143-113 to the Nets. After the first quarter alone, Golden State was down 29 points. Let’s just say we felt pretty comfortable with our Nets -12.5 pick for the entire 48 minutes. Our other 3-star play of over 228.5 in Lakers vs Kings also cashed comfortably as the Kings won 134-120. The Cavaliers beat the Bucks 114-106 in an Eastern Conference showdown and the Raptors ended the Knicks winning streak with a 113-106 win at Madison Square Garden.

Today’s Slate

Thursday Night Football
Football is back! This week’s edition of Thursday Night Football is between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New York Jets.

Slow day in the NBA
After a busy day in the association yesterday, we are limited to just 2 games tonight. The Spurs take on the Pelicans first at 8:00pm ET and the Wizards take on the Jazz an hour later.

Armed Forces Bowl
Today’s college football bowl game is between Baylor and Air Force in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Best Bet of the Day

NCAAF: Air Force +4 over Baylor
7:30 pm ET, ESPN

The Baylor Bears take on the Air Force Falcons in the Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. Baylor finished the season 6-6 but lost their last 3 games to finish the season. It is a disappointing season for the Bears who were 12-2 with a Sugar Bowl win last season. They are playing an Air Force team who has exceeded expectations and had the third-best overall record in the Mountain West. They finished the season 9-3 and won their last 4 games. Both teams are looking to end their season on a win.

Neither team has very many holdouts or draft prospects, so this game should be one of the few bowl games close to a regular season game. Baylor has a high-powered passing offense and averages 33.6 points and 235 passing yards per game. They are playing an Air Force defense that only allows 13.3 points and 256 yards per game. These Air Force guys are playing in possibly the last football game they will ever play in and will come ready to go against a tough Baylor team. Take the points in what should be a close game. Read our full Armed Forces Bowl predictions.
