Good morning, Pickswise Nation, and welcome to another wonderful week of sports. We have a big football game to look forward to tonight and there’s also the start of the college basketball season, plus NBA and NHL action, so let’s get straight to making your next bet better!
About Last Night
NFL Week 9 serves up upsets
In one of the biggest shockers of the season, the New York Jets upset the Buffalo Bills as double-digit home underdogs on Sunday. That victory, coupled with wins from the Lions over the Packers and Jaguars over the Raiders, were a few of the home underdogs that prevailed in Week 9.
Elsewhere around the NFL, the Chargers escaped Atlanta with a win over the Falcons, while the Vikings rallied to beat the Commanders. The Chiefs also escaped with a win over the Titans and the Dolphins needed a 35-point outburst to knock off the Bears. The Buccaneers came from behind to knock off the Rams, while the Seahawks handled the Cardinals in Arizona.
Cavs keep on rolling
The NBA season has been anything but predictable so far, but what has been constant is the continued success of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs won yet again on Sunday, dominating the Lakers en route to a double-digit victory. Cleveland is now 8-1 on the season, only sitting behind Milwaukee at the top of the NBA standings. Elsewhere, the Grizzlies defeated the Wizards while the Raptors took care of the Bulls in Toronto.

Massive NBA slate on tap
It was a quiet weekend around the association, but the NBA ramps back up on Monday with a full 15 game slate, including a marquee matchup between the Celtics and Grizzlies. We’ll also see the Philadelphia 76ers try to get back on track against the Phoenix Suns, while the Warriors look to get off the ground against the Kings. Read today’s NBA picks.
Best Bet of the Day
NFL: New Orleans Saints +2 over Baltimore Ravens (-110)
8:15 pm ET
The Saints have been one of the most undervalued teams all season, and from a net success rate standpoint, they rank as the 2nd-best team in the NFL. The Saints’ issue has been turnovers, where they are last in TO margin, 31st in EPA given up on offense due to turnovers and 32nd in defensive turnovers created. Turnovers are a stat that typically regress during a year, so the Saints are hoping that continues from last week’s shutout win over the Raiders. The Saints should be able to continue to move the ball, as since Andy Dalton took over in Week 4, they rank 3rd best in the NFL in offensive success rate. They should have success on this Ravens defense that is 27th in EPA allowed and bottom 10 in both run and pass efficiency. Check out our full Ravens vs Saints predictions.
