The Troy Trojans and the South Alabama Jaguars meet in a week 8 Sun Belt Conference college football matchup from Ladd Peebles Stadium on Thursday night.

The Troy Trojans will try to add to their current four-game win streak after their 17-14 win over Texas State last time out. Gunnar Watson has thrown for 1,691 yards, 6 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 63.2% passing while DK Billingsley and Kimani Vidal have combined for 694 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns this season. Tez Johnson has a team-high 479 receiving yards while Jabre Barber and Deshon Stoudemire each have 300+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Carlton Martial has a team-high 63 total tackles while T.J. Jackson has a team-high 5.5 sacks and Richard Jibunor has 4 sacks this season.

The South Alabama Jaguars will look to build on their three-game win streak after a 41-34 win over Louisiana-Monroe last time out. Carter Bradley has thrown for 1,677 yards, 13 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 63.6% passing while La’Damian Webb has a team-high 472 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns while Marco Lee has 4 touchdowns. Caulin Lacy has a team-high 35 catches for 503 yards along with 3 touchdowns while Jalen Wayne has 31 grabs for 493 yards and a team-high 5 touchdowns. Devin Voisin also has 330 receiving yards as well this season. On defense, James Miller has a team-high 33 total tackles while South Alabama’s defense has combined for 11 sacks and 8 interceptions.

Troy is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 conference games. I’ll give both teams credit for being a lot better than I expected them to be this season, especially South Alabama and I get why the Jaguars are favored at home however, I think that Troy’s had the better run against tougher opposition over the course of the season and I think this is going to be an air tight game, and a game where we’ll be happy to have the points in our back pocket.
