About Last Night
Padres, Phillies and Astros progress
The NL Championship series will be contested by 5th seeds the San Diego Padres and 6th seeds the Philadelphia Phillies! The Padres eliminated the 111-win Dodgers by taking Game 4 5-3 on Saturday, while the Phillies ended the season of the #2 seed Braves with an 8-3 win. The upsets might not be over yet, either, after the Guardians moved into a 2-1 lead over the Yankees with a 6-5 Saturday win. The other AL series went with the chalk, as the Astros beat the Mariners 1-0 for a 3-0 series sweep.
Bama beaten by Vols
Alabama won’t be going unbeaten this season after losing a thriller to Hendon Hooker and the Tennessee Volunteers, 52-49. #3 Alabama had been a 7-point favorite against the #6 Vols. Michigan beat Penn State 41-17 in another top-10 battle, while #13 TCU beat #8 Oklahoma State 43-40 in 2OT and #7 USC was another team to suffer a first defeat, losing 43-42 to Utah. FanDuel Sportsbook now has Ohio State at +170 odds for the National Championship, with Georgia at +190 and Alabama out to +450.
NHL parlay cashes for third time in 4 days!
It’s a shame there is no NHL action today as our daily hockey parlay is on a heater! Our Saturday picks (Penguins, Stars, Blues) cashed at +473 odds, following similar wins on Friday (+560) and Wednesday (+596). The Golden Knights became the first team with a 3-0 record by beating the Kraken 5-2.

Bills vs Chiefs headlines Sunday NFL slate
Sadly the days of 16-game NFL slates are over for a while, and there’s no early game this week either, but we do have 12 NFL Week 6 games today, including a blockbuster between the Bills and Chiefs at 9:25pm ET and Cowboys vs Eagles on Sunday Night Football.
Guardians and Yankees in the spotlight
We have just a single MLB game today, but it’s a big one, with the Guardians and Yankees playing Game 4 of their ALDS series in Cleveland at 7:00 pm ET on TBS.
Best Bet of the Day
NFL: New York Giants +6 over Baltimore Ravens
1:00 pm ET, CBS
The New York Giants are 4-1, but oddsmakers clearly aren’t too impressed. They’ve installed the G-Men as significant home underdogs against the Baltimore Ravens. They’re probably not as good as their record suggests, but they’re getting disrespected, and the Ravens shouldn’t be this large of a road favorite against just about anybody. The Ravens’ defense is middling, and in their only recent road game they gave up 26 points to the Patriots. New York held Aaron Rodgers to 5.7 yards per attempt, and they should at least be able to keep this one close.
