Padres at Dodgers picks and predictions
Prediction
Dodgers 6 Padres 3
Moneyline
The Dodgers deserve to be heavily favored both in this game as well as in the series. They have the best record and run differential in the league and the clear pitching edge in this one. However the price here is a little too steep so it’s best to simply PASS and find value elsewhere.
Run line/Against the spread
The Dodgers owned the Padres this season outscoring them 109-47 in 19 meetings with 13 of their 14 wins in the series coming by more than 1 run.
Urias has yielded 2 or fewer runs in 14 straight starts while Clevinger limped to the finish line with a 6.52 ERA over his final 6 turns (2 vs. Los Angeles).
Take the DODGERS -1.5 (-105) or consider a small play at -2.5 (+140).
Over/Under
Clevinger has displayed some soft skills throughout the season and has been knocked around by the high-powered Dodgers offense in 3 previous meetings. Urias has been excellent all year but also a little lucky and shouldn’t be expected to completely shut down the San Diego bats.
The early money has been on the Over which has pushed the total up since it opened. Even so the offenses should do enough to go OVER 7.5 (-103).
