Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Christian Wilkins was fined following his team’s Week 3 win against the Buffalo Bills.
According to gestures made by Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen on the field during a heated exchange, the Miami defender grabbed him near his groin area. It happened during a pile on the field.
Originally, Wilkins was fined $13,261 for his actions. Wilkins was not flagged on the field, but Allen was as he grabbed Wilkins’ facemask when he got upset.
On Monday, Wilkins told reporters via Dolphins Wire that he was “not going to get into that” when asked about the fine.
However, he indicated he did not think that it was fair.
“I don’t necessarily agree with what’s being accused of me and how things went down and how things were handled from that standpoint. So there’s obviously a process that goes there, an appeal process and everything, which I fully wish to take advantage of,” Wilkins said.
Bills Wire will provide updates on Wilkins’ fine appeal as information is made available.
Buffalo and Miami will not face off again until Week 15.
