The San Francisco Giants and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Wednesday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. The Giants posted a three-run win in the opener, then on Tuesday the Dodgers evened it up with their own three-run victory.

San Francisco bagged three runs in both the third and fourth innings Monday during a 7-4 victory. In the Tuesday matchup, the Giants had a brief lead early but quickly lost it in a 6-3 result. John Garcia lasted just 1.2 innings, giving up five earned on four hits and one walk.

For the starter gig on Wednesday, the Giants will send out Alex Cobb. Over his 22 starts this year Cobb is 5-6 with a 3.58 ERA. In 118.0 innings total he has 47 earned on 114 hits and 34 walks with 122 Ks.

Over on the Dodgers’ side, they had an early 2-0 lead Monday but couldn’t hold on. In game two on Tuesday, LA scored five runs in the first three innings alone on the way to the victory. Starter Tyler Anderson lasted 7.0 frames with three earned on eight hits.

Clayton Kershaw will take the mound for the Dodgers on Wednesday. Over 16 starts this year Kershaw is 7-3 with a 2.59 ERA. In 90.1 innings total he has 26 earned, 70 hits, 18 walks and 94 Ks.

The Giants are 6-20 in their last 26 versus the NL West and 4-9 in their last 13 road games versus a lefty starter. San Francisco is 0-6 in their last six Wednesday games.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers are 47-14 in their last 61 overall and 66-20 in their last 86 at home. LA is 40-14 in their last 54 versus a team with a losing record.

PICK: I’m probably going to take a stab on the Giants. Cobb has pitched well over his last two starts, posting 12.0 combined innings with zero earned, seven hits and three walks. As for Kershaw, he’s been rolling right along as well with two earned in 9.0 innings on four hits and four walks in his last two starts. We should have a pretty fun pitcher matchup in this one, and San Francisco should still be within range by the time Cobb steps off the mound.
