The Texas Rangers and the Colorado Rockies meet in MLB action from Coors Field on Wednesday.
The Texas Rangers will be looking to rebound from a 7-6 loss to the Rockies in Tuesday’s matchup. Going into Tuesday’s game, Nate Lowe has 130 hits and a .293 batting average with 20 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 20 home runs and 76 RBIs. Corey Seager also has 115 hits, 26 homers and 62 RBIs and Marcus Semien has 19 doubles, 19 home runs and 61 RBIs while the aforementioned Garcia has 118 hits and 24 doubles as well on the year. Martin Perez will start here and is 9-4 with a 2.80 ERA and 132 strikeouts this season.
The Colorado Rockies will look to keep the momentum going after their win over the Rangers from Tuesday’s game. Entering Tuesday, Connor Joe has 92 hits and a .243 batting average with 19 doubles, 5 home runs and 4 triples. C.J. Cron has 121 hits with 26 doubles, 3 triples, a team-high 23 home runs and 80 RBIs while Ryan McMahon has 19 doubles and Charlie Blackmon has 115 hits with 16 home runs and 69 RBIs of his own up to this point in the season for the Rockies. Randal Grichuk also has 13 home runs and 60 RBIs as well this season. Brendan Rodgers has 124 hits with 26 doubles and Jose Iglesias also has 29 doubles of his own and a .312 batting average on the year. Jose Urena will start here and is 2-4 with a 4.71 ERA and 30 strikeouts this season.
Texas is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 in their last 7 games against a team with a right-handed starter while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 road games. Colorado is 37-17 in their last 54 home games against a team with a losing record and 2-6 in their last 8 games overall while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 game two matchups.
I get the case to be made either way here after both teams showed up offensively in a big way on Tuesday. However, I just don’t trust Jose Urena right now despite a decent start here and there as more often than not, he’s been looking like the same pitcher that struggled his way through Miami. Martin Perez hasn’t had the best luck lately, but he’s the better starter here by a fair margin and I think he leads the Rangers to a win in this one.
