Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman made an appearance on NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” this morning.

Quarterbacks and rookies report to training camp on Friday, but Hardman won’t be out in St. Joseph, Missouri until next Monday when veterans report. When he does report to camp, he’ll look to begin seizing some of the opportunity vacated by former Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill.

“Definitely, opportunity, for sure,” Hardman said. “A guy like Tyreek (Hill) with a lot of targets, I think it’s a lot of targets to go around. Obviously, we’ve got a good group of guys, receivers-wise. So, it’s definitely going to be a good year to come up a little bit and just have fun with it and just take advantage of the opportunity.”

The “Good Morning Football” crew got a little creative with their next question, showing Hardman a clip of his teammate Justin Reid on the show earlier this month. If you don’t recall, Reid said the offense was going to “put up 100 points” per game. Hardman wasn’t willing to put a number on it, but he expects the offense to be just as explosive as they’ve been in prior years.

“First of all, he’s talking like he’s (playing) on the offensive side,” Hardman joked. “The offense, they’re gonna be explosive. Like he said, you’ve Patrick Mahomes at the helm — he’s got the keys to the car. Then you’ve got the best tight end in the league in Travis Kelce. When you’ve got those two guys and our offensive line that’s revamped that’s going to be pretty good again this year, I think you can lean on those guys to have a successful offense. I think, just with Pat and Trav alone, the offense is going to be great regardless. With the pieces of me, JuJu (Smith-Schuster), Marquez (Valdes-Scantling), I think we’re gonna have a significant role in the offense to boost it up a bit. I think you’re gonna see a more overall play of the offense.”

With Mahomes and Kelce alone, this iteration of the offense would be potent. Add in the revamped offensive line, Smith-Schuster and Valdes-Scantling, Hardman and others, and there is the potential that it takes things to another level for Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy’s offense. At least that’s what Hardman believes to this point in the offseason program. The Chiefs Kingdom will soon get a chance to see it all in action down in training camp.
