The Texas Rangers and the Baltimore Orioles meet in MLB action from Camden Yards on Monday.
The Texas Rangers will look to rebound after losing their series with the New York Mets after a 4-1 loss to the Mets last time out. Nate Lowe has 75 hits and a .279 batting average with 10 doubles while Adolis Garcia has 15 home runs and a team-high 50 RBIs. Corey Seager also has 67 hits, 15 homers and 36 RBIs and Brad Miller has 27 RBIs while Marcus Semien has 13 doubles and the aforementioned Garcia has 75 hits and 16 doubles as well on the year. Dane Dunning will get the start here and is 1-6 with a 4.09 ERA and 77 strikeouts this season.
The Baltimore Orioles will look to build on their 3-1 win over the Twins from their last matchup. Trey Mancini has 75 hits and a .279 batting average while Anthony Santander has a team-high 15 home runs and 40 RBIs. Austin Hays also has 78 hits with 19 doubles, 45 RBIs and a .271 batting average as well on the year. Cedric Mullins also has 80 hits with 19 doubles, 6 homers and 30 RBIs as well this season. Ryan Mountcastle also has 14 home runs and 40 RBIs as well this season. Dean Kremer will start here and is 2-1 with a 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts this season.
Texas is 51-105 in their last 156 road games and 9-23 in their last 32 game against the AL East while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 series-opening games. Baltimore is 2-5 in their last 7 games against the AL West and 55-126 in their last 181 series-opening games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games following a win.
I get the reasoning for backing either side in this one, but I’m looking at the under here. Dane Dunning hasn’t had a ton of luck on the road, but we know what he’s capable of and despite Baltimore winning a lot of games lately, a fair chunk of them have been done with solid pitching instead of a lot of run production. On the flipside, Dean Kremer’s been outstanding this year and I just think this is one of those spots where Kremer spins another gem and we have a low-scoring duel, first to 3 wins kind of game. Give me the under here.
