The Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels meet in MLB action from Angel Stadium on Wednesday night.
The Chicago White Sox will look to build on their 11-3 win over the Angels in Tuesday’s matchup. Jose Abreu leads the White Sox with 9 home runs, along with 35 RBIs, 74 hits and 19 doubles while Luis Robert has a .295 batting average with 72 hits and a team-high 38 RBIs and Andrew Vaughn has 33 RBIs, a .307 batting average and 13 doubles this season. A.J. Pollock’s also added 23 RBIs and 12 doubles on the year for Chicago. Michael Kopech will start here and is 2-4 with a 2.59 ERA and 57 strikeouts this season.
The Los Angeles Angels will look to rebound after their loss to the White Sox in Tuesday’s game. Entering Tuesday, Mike Trout has 69 hits, 16 doubles, 46 RBIs and 23 home runs while Jared Walsh has 40 RBIs and Brandon Marsh has 31 RBIs. Shohei Ohtani has 7t hits while adding 1t doubles, 17 home runs and 49 RBIs. Taylor Ward also has a .313 batting average as well this season. Ohtani will get the start on the mound here and is 6-4 with a 2.90 ERA and 90 strikeouts this season.
Chicago is 1-5 in their last 6 games overall and 1-4 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 5-0 in their last 5 games against a team with a losing record. Los Angeles is 9-23 in their last 32 games overall and 5-14 in their last 19 home games while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 Wednesday games.
I get the case to be made for the White Sox and plus money, but the problem here is that Michael Kopech hasn’t been pitching all that well in June and while the Angels have had issues of their own, Shohei Ohtani is the ace and has pitched like it in his last three starts with a 0.43 ERA. I think this is just one of those spots where the pitching edge is just too hard to ignore so give me the Angels in this one.
