The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants meet Sunday in MLB action at Oracle Park. The Los Angeles Dodgers need a win after losing 5 of their last 7 games. The San Francisco Giants look for a win after splitting their last 10 games.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have scored 15 runs in their last 3 games and 4 or more runs in 5 of their last 8 games. The Dodgers have won 10 of their last 14 games when scoring 4 or more runs. Trea Turner leads the Dodgers with 69 hits and 46 RBI, while Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts have combined for 134 hits and 73 RBI. Julio Urias gets the ball, and he is 3-5 with a 2.78 ERA and 46 strikeouts this season. Urias is 3-3 with a 2.41 ERA and 82 strikeouts in his career against the Giants.
The San Francisco Giants have scored 12 runs in their last 3 games and 3 or fewer runs in 5 of their last 10 games. The Giants have lost 9 of their last 11 games when scoring 3 or fewer runs. Thairo Estrada leads the Giants with 53 hits and 25 RBI, while Wilmer Flores and Mike Yastrzemski have combined for 93 hits and 54 RBI. Carlos Rodon gets the ball, and he is 4-4 with a 3.51 ERA and 75 strikeouts this season. Rodon is 0-2 with a 4.76 ERA and 11 strikeouts in his career against the Dodgers.
The Dodgers are 6-2 in their last 8 road games and 84-38 in their last 122 overall. The Giants are 3-9 in their last 12 games as an underdog and 15-5 in their last 20 Sunday games. The under is 5-1-1 in Dodgers last 7 road games. The under is 3-0-2 in Giants last 5 overall. The Dodgers are 4-1 in the last 5 meetings.
I get why the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorite here, as they’re going to be favored most games just off their talent, and it doesn’t hurt that Julio Urias is on the mound here. However, the Dodgers have been in a funk these last two weeks, and they’re burning holes in pockets, failing to win as favorites. Also, Carlos Rodon isn’t chopped liver here, as he’s missing bats consistently, and he has a 2.67 ERA and .212 allowed batting average in 27 innings at home. There’s good value with the Giants as a home dog. I’ll take it.
