The 2022 ATP season continues this week with two exciting tournaments in Open Parc Auvergne-Alpes Lyon and Gonet Geneva Open, which will feature some of the top tennis players in the world competing for the trophy in preparation for the French Open.

The 2022 Open Parc Auvergne-Alpes Lyon or Lyon Open promises to be a very close and entertaining tournament, with many names that could be considered serious threats for the title. But out of all participating players, it’s hard to look past Alex de Minaur.
The 23-year-old and the current no.22 in the world will be set for a fairly straightforward road to the finals. He has received a direct bye into the second round, where he is likely going to face Humbert, who the Australian tennis star should defeat.
From there, Minaur will play either Kwon on Portero, with neither presenting any serious challenge for the up-and-coming star. His first real challenge will come in the fourth round, where Minaur is highly likely going to meet with Carreno Busta.
And even though the Spaniard looks stronger on paper, he has been struggling with his form lately, so we would prefer to be on the side of Minaur to make it to the finals.
In the finals, Minaur might meet with Norrie, Rune, or possibly Monfils.
Even though he should be considered an underdog against either of the three, the odds we’re getting on Minaur to win the title now make it worth betting on him to go all the way.
Gonet Geneva Open Betting Preview & Picks
The 2022 Gonet Geneva Open or simply Geneva Open commenced on May 14, and it will be the last tune-up tennis tournament before the French Open. It will feature some of the world’s top players, including the US Open champion, Daniil Medvedev, who will return on tour after a one-month hiatus.
It will also mark Medvedev’s first clay-court tournament, which begs the question of whether the current world no.2 can deliver to the expectations and go all the way. But the real question we should be asking ourselves is “why not?”.
Medvedev will headling the top half of the draw and will receive a first-round bye, which sets him up for a clash between either John Millman or Richard Gasquet, and he should be able to take care of the two. From there, Medvedev will either play Alexander Bublik or, more likely, Dominic Thiem, against whom he should be favored.
Medvedev’s only real threat will come in the semis, where he is highly likely going to face Shapovalov, who beat him twice before. However, even though Medvedev’s H2H record shows 2-2, he hasn’t lost against the Canadian once since the 2018 Citi Open.
Assuming Medvedev doesn’t slip on his way to the finals, he is highly likely going to face Casper Ruud in the final match of the tournament, which is a game that can easily go both ways. Stil Medvedev has yet to lose against Ruud in his career, and there is little that would suggest this will change.
