Even though we’re only in the month of May, it’s never too early to start thinking about the start of the college football season.
As sportsbooks are now starting to release NCAAF Regular Season Wins Odds for the 2022 season, we’ve taken it upon ourselves to give you a few predictions on whether or not the team will go over or under the projected totals. Here you go!
College Football Season Win Total Predictions: The Oddsmakers Have Spoken!
Will the Dawgs Repeat?
- Georgia Bulldogs – Under 11.5
Coming off of last year’s National Championship season, the Bulldogs should be one of the nation’s top teams once again. Even though they had 15 players drafted in this year’s NFL Draft, Kirby Smart’s program does what Alabama does; they don’t rebuild; they just reload.
With numerous top recruits waiting in the wings, Georgia will once again be a very good team. However, we don’t see their defense being near as good as last year’s, and that will cause them to lose a game or two. Take the under on Georgia.
Is this Jimbo Fisher’s Breakthrough Season?
- Texas A&M Aggies – Over 9
Texas A&M paid Jimbo Fisher a ton of money to bring the Aggies bag to national prominence. Even though they beat Alabama last season, Fisher’s squads have yet to take the next step. In a difficult SEC, A&M hasn’t been able to string together wins over the signature programs.
However, with much of last year’s starting squad coming back and one of the top recruiting classes in the country coming in, this could be their breakthrough season. We’re not saying that they’re going to run the table in the SEC, but they should go over the projected win total of nine.
Woooooo Pig Suey!
- Arkansas Razorbacks – Over 6.5
Coming off of an unexpected 9-4 season, the oddsmakers think that Arkansas will slide in Sam Pittman’s third season.
They did lose star receiver Treylon Burks to the NFL Draft, but Oklahoma transfer Jadon Haselwood should be a suitable replacement. KJ Jefferson is back under center for the Hogs, and another year of experience will make him even better.
They have some very winnable non-conference games, and their conference schedule isn’t as stacked as in years past. We like Arkansas to win at least seven games and hit the over.
The Buckeyes Will Be Back With A Vengeance!
- Ohio State Buckeyes – Over 10.5
After being embarrassed by the Michigan Wolverines in their last regular-season game, Ohio State has something to prove this season. Even though they lost some talented offensive pieces, the Buckeyes will still return a very strong group of players.
Jim Knowles, who turned the Oklahoma State defense around last season, was brought in as OSU’s new defensive coordinator. With numerous starters back on that side of the ball this season, OSU’s weakness last season should be much better this season.
Combine that with CJ Stroud having another year of experience, and this Ohio State team could run the table. They do have Notre Dame on their schedule, but we think they have what it takes to go 12-0. Take the over on the Buckeyes!
