The San Francisco Giants (14-8) open a 2-game road series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (14-7) Tuesday night. First pitch is at 10:10 p.m. ET at Dodger Stadium. Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Giants vs. Dodgers odds with MLB picks and predictions.
Season series: This is the first game of the season between the NL West Division rivals. The Giants won 10 of 19 regular-season games vs. L.A. in 2021, and including the postseason the teams split 24 games last year..
The Giants have lost 3 of their last 4 games and are coming off a home series loss to the Washington Nationals, losing 2 out of 3 to them, including Sunday’s 11-5 loss.
The Dodgers beat the Detroit Tigers 6-3 Sunday to clinch a 2-1 series win at home.
Giants at Dodgers projected starters

Rodon (3-0, 1.17 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 0.83 WHIP, 3.1 BB/9 and a league-leading 14.9 K/9 through 23 IP.
- Has lasted at least 5 innings in every start and has not allowed more than 1 ER in any.

Giants at Dodgers picks and predictions
Prediction
Giants 3, Dodgers 2
Money line
These are 2 of the best teams in baseball with stud pitchers on the mound.
The Giants have been great on the road this season, starting off the year 8-3, while the Dodgers are 8-2 at home so far.
Both starters have been fantastic this season outside of Urias’ first start. Both teams’ bullpens have been great. The Giants have the third-lowest bullpen ERA in baseball at 2.59, while the Dodgers are right behind them at 2.77.
The Dodgers have not lost a series opener yet this season.
I give a slight edge to Rodon in this matchup, so I LEAN GIANTS (+115).
Run line/Against the spread
With 2 evenly matched teams, 2 great starters and 2 great bullpens, it is hard to think one team will pull away from the other.
The Dodgers have the best ATS record in the league at 14-7 ATS. The Giants are 12-10 ATS.
But as good as Rodon has been, I can’t expect the Dodgers to pull ahead and win by more than a run. And I actually lean toward a Giants win, but the line doesn’t make betting the Giants on the run line worth the money PASS.
Over/Under
Rodon has not allowed more than 1 run in any start this season. Urias has not allowed more than 1 in his last 3 starts. Both bullpens have ERAs of under 3.00.
Everything about this matchup says that it will be low-scoring.
Take UNDER 6.5 (-102).
