The Miami Marlins will try to build on their four-game win streak after a 2-1 win over Washington last time out. Jesus Sanchez has a team-high 19 hits along with a pair of triples, 3 home runs and a .284 batting average. Jazz Chisholm Jr. has a pair of triples as well as 4 home runs and a team-high 15 RBIs as well this season. Jorge Soler has a team-high 4 doubles while Joey Wendle has a team-high 5 doubles and a .333 batting average. Garrett Cooper and Brian Anderson each have 4 doubles as well on the year. Elieser Hernandez will start here for Miami and is 1-1 with a 5.87 ERA and 15 strikeouts this season.
Seattle is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall and 11-4 in their last 15 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 6-0 in their last 6 interleague games. Miami is 5-1 in their last 6 games against the AL West and 16-35 in their last 51 interleague games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 interleague home games.
I get the reasoning for backing either team here as the Mariners have been playing some solid ball lately and the Marlins have been on a tear but we have to see if it’s sustainable against teams not named the Washington Nationals. Instead, I’m going to side with the over here, both starters, Brash and Hernandez can be hit and hit hard at that, though we’ve seen it more from the latter early on this season and I see this as a 5-4 game at the very least. Give me the over here.
