The Pittsburgh Penguins and the Philadelphia Flyers meet in NHL action from the Wells Fargo Arena on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will look to build on back-to-back wins after a 7-2 win over Detroit in their last game. Sidney Crosby leads the Penguins in scoring with 83 points with 30 goals and 53 assists while Jake Guentzel is right there with 82 points including a team-high 40 goals and 42 assists and Kris Letang has 67 points with a team-high 58 assists. Tristan Jarry’s seen the majority of Pittsburgh’s action between the pipes, going 34-18-6 with a 2.42 GAA and a .919 save percentage this season.

The Philadelphia Flyers will look to build off of their 6-3 win over Montreal last time out. Cam Atkinson leads the Flyers in scoring with 50 points including a team-high 23 goals, 27 assists while Travis Konecny also has a team-high 35 assists as well on the year. Carter Hart’s gone 13-24-7 with a 3.16 GAA and a .905 save percentage in goal for the Flyers while Martin Jones has gone 11-17-3 with a 3.51 GAA and an .897 save percentage this season.

Pittsburgh is 66-31 in their last 97 games as a favorite and 1-4 in their last 5 road games while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games as a road favorite. Philadelphia is 16-48 in their last 64 games overall and 12-40 in their last 52 games as an underdog while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall.

I get the case to be made for a home underdog in certain spots, but the problem is the Flyers are still god awful and the Penguins are in need of wins to build up some confidence heading into the postseason and are trying to avoid falling into the Wild Card spots. I think this is another one of those spots where the Flyers just being so bad gets us paid here. Give me the Penguins -1.5 here.
