The Philadelphia Phillies and the Colorado Rockies meet in MLB action from Coors Field on Wednesday.
The Philadelphia Phillies will look to rebound from a 6-5 loss to the Rockies in Tuesday’s matchup. Nick Castellanos leads the Phillies with 12 hits, along with a .267 batting average and 4 doubles. Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins each have 4 doubles while Castellanos and Harper each have a pair of home runs and Kyle Schwarber has a team-high 3 homers. Bryce Harper also has a team-high 10 RBIs and J.T. Realmuto has a .333 batting average for the Phils this season. Zach Eflin will start here and is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 7 strikeouts this season.
The Colorado Rockies will try to build on Tuesday’s win from their last matchup. Connor Joe leads the Rockies with 15 hits and a .349 batting average with 3 doubles and a triple. C.J. Cron has 14 hits with a team-high 6 home runs and 14 RBIs while Kris Bryant has 14 hits with a team-high 4 doubles as well as a team-best .359 batting average this season. German Marquez will start here and is 0-0 with a 3.97 ERA and 8 strikeouts this season.
Philadelphia is 0-4 in their last 4 games as a road favorite and 0-4 in Eflin’s last 4 road starts against a team with a winning record while the over is 4-0 in Eflin’s last 4 road starts. Colorado is 5-0 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 game three matchups.
I get the case to be made for the Phillies here as Zach Eflin is a decent mid-rotation piece for the Phils. However, the Rockies keep finding ways to keep their hot start going and I personally like German Marquez just a little bit more than Eflin, especially when he’s at home. I think the Rockies are getting some value here so give me Colorado in this one as the Philadelphia Phillies just can’t be trusted to put together anything consistent as of late.
