The Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays meet in MLB action from Rogers Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The Texas Rangers will try to salvage a win in the series after a 4-3 loss to Toronto on Saturday. Corey Seager and Nate Lowe each went 2 for 4 with an RBI while Marcus Semien had a double and an RBI to finish off the scoring for the Rangers as a team in the loss. Brad Miller, Kole Calhoun, Andy Ibanez and Jonah Heim each had a base hit to cap off the Rangers’ offense as a team in the losing effort. Dane Dunning gave up three runs on five hits while striking out four over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Brett Martin took the loss in relief. Spencer Howard will start here and was 0-3 with a 9.70 ERA in eight starts for Texas last season.

The Toronto Blue Jays will try to complete the sweep after their win over the Rangers on Saturday. Bo Bichette had a solo home run while Santiago Espinal added a double and an RBI. Vladimir Guerrero Jr had a pair of hits with an RBI and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added an RBI as well to cap off the scoring for the Jays in the winning effort. Alejandro Kirk and George Springer each had a pair of hits to finish off the offense for the Blue Jays as a team in the winning effort. Kevin Gausman allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out five over five innings of work, not factoring in the decision. Trevor Richards got the win in relief to improve to 1-0 while Jordan Romano closed the 9th for his 2nd save of the season. Hyun-Jin Ryu will start here and was 14-10 with a 4.37 ERA for Toronto last season.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in certain spots, but the problem here is that the Rangers have found ways to lose each of the first two legs of this series and now send Spencer Howard to the bump for his first start after he wasn’t very good last season. Ryu is one of the better options in Toronto’s rotation and the Blue Jays have some early momentum. I’ll take Toronto -1.5 here.
